From strength and condition classes, guided running training across Woodbury Common and fitness sessions for families, there’s something for everyone!


Supported long runs

If you have a spring marathon or half marathon planned then these sessions are for you. Starting at Darts Farm, running along the cycle path towards Exmouth. you choose your turn round point. Guidance given throughout the run on hydration and fueling. Water and some fueling provided along with a support vehicle and coaching/support

Strength & conditioning classes for runners

Focusing on increasing strength in muscles specifically used in running, these sessions will help to reduce risk of injury, increase core stability, and develop your running form.

  • Where: Gym 5, Exmouth Community College, Gipsy Lane, EX8 3AF

  • When: Every Monday, 6.45-7.45pm

Common Runners - Beginners Group

Interested in giving running a go but not sure where to start? Then join come along to our Common Runners Beginners Group! As well as building your confidence, meeting new people, and exploring different areas of Woodbury Common, you’ll learn all about warming-up, stretching, and pacing.

  • Where: Woodbury Common, near Exmouth (meeting points will be shared ahead of each session)

Family fitness

Keen to get the whole family moving? These running and fitness sessions are suitable for all abilities and ages, and can include games, runs with exercises interspersed, timed runs and fitness circuits.

  • Where: Woodbury cricket pitch or Muga

Fitter, leaner, stronger group sessions

A combination of cardio and strength work, these sessions will help to support fat loss, muscle tone, increased cardiovascular fitness, and a stronger body and mind.

  • Where: WOODBURY SALTERTON VILLAGE HALL

  • When: TUESDAYS 12-1pm - Lunchtime fitness (for those working from home or stay at home parents. Babies and toddlers welcome). 1.30-2.15 keep fit (for the retired who want to stay active)

Common Runners - Improvers Group

Starting to enjoy running and want to get faster? Aimed at those who have had experience of running and can comfortably complete 5km, these guided running sessions across Woodbury Common will develop your knowledge around pacing, hill running, warm-ups and stretching.

Stretch and mobility 

Focussing on areas of the body used specifically by runners, these online sessions focus on stretching to increase flexibility, enhance mobility of joints, and promote recovery from tough training sessions.
